The Endangered Ecosystems Alliance is holding our first event in Ottawa on Monday, October 28 ( Metta Movement and Meditation Studio, 5 Hamilton Ave North, 7:00 - 8:30 pm) where executive director Ken Wu will be speaking about "Averting the Extinction and Climate Crises: Protecting 50% by 2030".
For the first time in decades, environmental concerns have risen to the top of public concerns in the western world, and movements such as the Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg’s Global Climate Strike are taking hold among millions of people as millions work to confront the dual crises of mass extinction and climate catastrophe.
The Endangered Ecosystem Alliance’s executive director Ken Wu will give an informative, beautiful and compelling slideshow presentation on how vastly scaling-up the protection of Canada’s diverse native ecosystems - from old-growth temperate rainforests to prairie grasslands, from deciduous forests to boreal forests, from wetlands to marine ecosystems - will be a game-changer in helping to avert both the mass extinction and climate change crises, along with major emissions reductions.
Learn about protected areas initiatives in endangered ecosystems across Canada and what YOU can do to greatly diversify and expand the movement to save ecosystems and the climate during this unprecedented window of environmental activism.
This event will be both an awareness raising night and a fundraiser for our new organization as we head into our 1 year national mobilization leading up to the October, 2020 UN Biodiversity Conference in China next year.
Hosted by the Metta Movement and Meditation Studio and the Endangered Ecosystems Alliance.
